Hi Matt and Dave

I remember you saying somewhere that you got a great deal on your logo design…any chance you can point me in the same/right direction?

Cheers

Hi Tim,

In the blog post Dave popped up on this a while back here https://understandinge.com/secret-cheap-great-looking-logo/ if you have a read through it, the cruical point is that I already knew exactly what I wanted.

So when it came to editing the image, it was a very cheap and fast edit from a freelancer on Odesk.

What I would suggest is that you sketch a few ideas out on paper, take a picture of it on your phone and then say “make this into a logo in a PSD/Vector format”.

You’re then not paying for any creativity, it’s straight photoshop/illustrator work and that’s well cheap.

Does that help Tim?

Hi Matt

Thats great thanks. I don’t think I’ve seen the blog post, will have a look.

Having zero artistic ability I will need someone to do the whole design as well, will look at Odesk. Have used Freelancer in the past, any benefit to using Odesk over Freelancer??

Cheers

Hi Tim,

They basically do the same thing :)

Having zero artistic ability I will need someone to do the whole design as well

HUGE tip:
Spend the time to find something you like that already exists, this will make the job cheaper AND save you the frustration of not liking what you’re being created.

Matt

PS. I take my own advice too, which is why I’ve just spent the last hour writing a pre-specification document for something I’m working on and need to outsource. Like anything, you get what you put in :)
