VAT issues with Amazon

Ok our set up : 6.3.6 (stable)

Ebay m2e pro works well, and Vat is shown on Invoice.
Magento orders are done as VAT at standard 20% and vat shows on invoice.

Amazon….
Not showing TAX on order/invoice just shown as 0.00
both excl.incl. vat prices are shown as the same on the invoice order. So its like its not deducting anything.

Configuration is set to take vat settings from Amazon only
because otherwise with Magento & Amazon vat set up – we end up with Double VAT

Is there a setting in Amazon we are missing?
We have Europe amazon accounts to – these do the same thing as the UK

Any help much appreciated

Hi Kelly,

Another member has mentioned a similar issue, from what I understood it sounds like there is an API issue between Amazon and M2E Pro. I would suggest contacting M2E Pro and letting them know as the more people who are having this issue the quicker they will fix, or at least be able to instruct you how to fix or fix in your system.

Hi Kelly,

It sounds like there is a an issue with your tax rules as I run 6.3.6 with European Amazon accounts and it work as it should do.

Have you recently updated to 6.3.6, as I have heard that it something messes up the tax rules. Have you followed the tutorial Matt & Dave did on tax settings? If so make sure you delete the original tax settings otherwise you end up with double vat.

If not this doesn’t solve it let me know and if you like I will take a quick look for you

Hey Dave,

I managed to get this issue resolved – but unfortunately I an unable to post the resolution. I got in touch with M2E who connected to my Magento site and made the necessary changes. I don’t know what they changed I just know it works now! :)

Well sounds like it may have been M2E specific in the back end, but glad they got it sorted for you.

Hi Rodney.

Unfortunately, yes. It would be great if you could share the solution.

My symptoms are as follows:

  • If I set tax source to be Amazon, the tax is zero on Magento invoices But the total is correct because Amazon item price already includes VAT.
  • If I select tax source as magento, then magento adds vat a second time so the invoice shows the wrong total.
  • There seems to be no option to handle the the vat from the Amazon correctly.

In any solution I also need to make sure that vat does not get added for Amazon.com (USA).

Thanks
Graham

M2E Pro has fixed the problem for Andrew. As for your issue, maybe @Paul Cartwright can look into it.
