Hi Guys,

Something has changed. I have been successfully creating products in Magento then using M2E to upload to Amazon by uploading parent products after which the child products have automatically uploaded – As Matt would say “Happy Days”.

Now (possibly since updating to M2E 6.4.8) when I upload a parent product M2E asks me to manually link all the child options and upload them as individual products – see image below.

If I do manually link the child products (and this is a problem as I some cases I have dozens of variations) I then have an option”
M2E Pro is able to work with Magento Variational Products in two different Modes:
Selling Magento Variational Product as an Amazon Product with Parent/Child relation;
Selling certain Variation of Magento Product as Individual Amazon Product
You can read more about those two Modes in M2E Pro documentation.
This Product is now being treated as Amazon Product with Parent/Child relation, do you want to switch to Individual Mode? “

If I select the Parent/Child option and relist I get an error message:-
“Product cannot be Listed because ASIN/ISBN is not assigned, UPC/EAN value is not provided and the Search Settings are invalid. Please set the required Settings and try again.”
However each product does have an EAN.

My questions are:-
1. Has M2E changed the way it works?
2. How do I now add products to Amazon?

I am thinking perhaps a change to some of the policies is required to make it work again?

Help gratefully appreciated.
Regards,
Roger GreenUntitled-1.gifImage Enlarger

So I contacted M2E and they have an answer. Yes they have changed the way products are uploaded to Amazon but will be reverting back in the next M2E version.

Dear Roger,
Thank you for contacting our team with this question.
In the version 6.4.8 of M2E Pro all Magento configurable products are added to the Amazon listing as an individual ones by default. In order to change the variation mode and make product to be represented in the listing as a parent the icon Change Variation Mode should be clicked. Please, refer to screenshot

http://awesomescreenshot.com/0a568vfy82

However, pay attention that option to change variation mode will not be available if settings for New ASIN Creation settings are assigned to product. Please, refer to screenshot

http://awesomescreenshot.com/0a168vh657

So, if the New ASIN Creation settings are assigned to product you should unassign them in order to change the variation mode. Once the variation mode is changed, you should assign back settings for New ASIN creation to list items

https://docs.m2epro.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=18188835

The ability to add variational products to Amazon listing as a parent one will be reverted back in the next version of M2E Pro which is planned to be released soon.
We apologies for the temporary inconveniences it may have caused you.
Best Regards,

M2E Pro Support Team

Hi Rodney,

Looks like they have a problem with the last update of M2E but they are working on it. I told M2E support that I had successfully managed to load a product to Amazon using this method but it’s not practical for me as many of our products have dozens of variations and their reply was:-

Dear Roger,
We are sorry that the way to list configurable product on Amazon became more confusing. Currently, it is the only work around for users who need to upload variational products on Amazon.
Please, know that the release of new version is going to be very soon.

Has there been any news on this new version? I’m in the same position as Roger, currently unable to list ANYTHING onto Amazon because it’s not adding the variations in by default. Doing it manually just isn’t an option with thousands of products which are each available in 7 sizes. I feel like we’ve been waiting for this new version for well over a month now – has anyone heard anything about when it might be released?

Hi Erica,

I have chased M2E today and will let you know when they get back to me. Meanwhile I am wondering if an option is to roll back to the previous version of M2E but I would be worried that that would mess up my eBay products so perhaps I will just wait. It does mean I have lost an entire season selling on Amazon.

Yep, I’m in exactly the same boat!! I really need to be getting all the pre-summer items onto Amazon now – if I wait another 2 weeks, it’ll be too late for those. :( I was actually wondering the same as you and was googling how to roll back to a previous version, but I wasn’t able to find much information. I’d be worried that an update might have made changes to database tables so that rolling back isn’t as simple as just replacing the newer version files with older ones. Like yourself, I also don’t want to mess up my eBay products. So frustrating!!

I hope M2E reply to you soon….hopefully you’ll let us here know? Thank you in advance!

Just an update for anyone else following along – this morning version 6.4.9 was finally available to me in Magento Connect Manager. It installed without problems, and when I went to add a test product to an Amazon listing of mine, it worked beautifully. Listed with all variations automatically, no issues whatsoever. Better late than never, right?! :)

Yep, Just upgraded to 6.4.10 (stable) and have successfully uploaded a variable test product – looks like we are back in business.
