Shot in the dark, as I’d guess that everyone in the US is enjoying thanksgiving, but I have been troubleshooting a sudden performance issue on our site with Siteground.
Anyone else experiencing the same?

They moved the client to a Lightspeed server a few weeks ago, and all was well, until the 23 of this month, when suddenly load to all the cat and product pages has slowed to a crawl. They said they updated mysql a few weeks ago also, and so I’m wondering if there’s some magento core conflicts or something.

Support is not at all helpful, I’ve been at it with them for three days straight now and it couldn’t be more aggravating.

thanks

Slightly confusing as your title says simpleservers but your text says siteground :)

But in general I’d start with GtMetrix. You can set a site to be monitored daily and can compare loadtimes.

Also using Firebug inside Firefox, and the Net panel, you can break down where each bit is loading form and how long it’s taking to load.

It will depend on your server plan – if you’re on a shared host, it’s possible that your stack has got a new resource-hungry site on it.
