I`m having a problem with the magmi sku finder, it won’t work and I think it’s because it’s not saving the value that I put in the configure box. I’ve clicked save profile, but each time I do the box returns to being blank for some reason. As a result (I think), my import fails with this error:

plugin;SkuFinderItemProcessor;error:SKU Finder v0.0.1 – is not a valid attribute

The name of the attribute is missing as the box was blank. Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated, as I’d rather not have to manually type out a huge csv file!

Howdy Joe,

I’ve not used the sku finder plugin before I’m afraid and can’t offer any insight on this one.

Matt,

Could you (or anyone else) try putting a value in the box for me and seeing if it stays there when you click the save profile button?

I just want to know if it’s me. The sku finder lets you use an alternative value to the sku to find the products, it has to be a global attribute with the `unique`value checked.

I think this might be a bug in the understandinge version of magmi. Possibly something to look into if you were going to upgrade it to the next version at any time soon Matt.

Hey Joe,

Hmmmm sounds interesting, I will ask Matt to take a look when he is next online to see if he can confirm either way.

Thanks

Dave

Indeed it appears to be a bug in the UE version. I changed the SKU finder plugin with the latest version from Magmi‘s site and it worked. See attached zip file with latest version of Magmi‘s SKU finder.

I would believe this should not mess up anything else with UE’s Magmi version as this is a plug-in. But no guarantees.

One more thing, you will notice the plugin updates to a new version number SKU Finder v0.0.3 when you make this change. And I do believe not permanently saving the unique value is the desired effect here to avoid a huge problem should you forget that SKU finder was selected.

And remember, the value you are referencing must be an attribute, unique, and it must be set to GLOBAL scope. Most attributes you setup default to Store View.
