Hi Matt/Dave

I have a problem with Magmi. When I upload a CSV to my site using Magmi, the Errors and Warnings are showing as- 34 error(s) found. Show Details and 26 warning(s) found. Show Details. When I click on these to view the Errors and Warnings, the text boxes below are blank.

Any ideas on how I can get these to show?

Thanks
Tim

Howdy Tim,

Unfortunately this is a known issue with Magmi at present.

We’re not getting the ID and log back and showing it on the page. The trick to finding out what has actually gone pete-tong is to check the file called “progress.txt” in the “state” folder in Magmi.

So “magmi_importer/state/progress.txt”

And you’ll see the errors there.

Actually that’s just given me a cunning idea! Why don’t we just read the contents of that file and spill it out on the errors section when that error occurs? Crude yet effective, I like it!

Howdy Tim,

Highly crude, but highly effective! She’s working here!

Just added in the extra code that will get around this and display the messages back, it’s working here, but I need to comment it properly and test it with some other files to be sure.

Hi Tim,

Below is a file called progress_details.php unzip this file and upload it to the “magmi_importer/web/” folder and run again, you’ll now see the errors.

Hi Matt,

My FTP is saying that this file already exists in the web folder. Do I need to import it?

Howdy James,

Just overwrite it, it’s a direct replacement.

Thanks Matt, that code tweak shows the errors nicely.

It showed the error magmi wrong column number : 42 found over 41, line skipped and it turned out to be using comma as the separator in csv and there was a comma in the field for configurable_attributes (foot_size, color)

Just thought I would share in case anyone else is having a similar issue

cheers,

Dave

Hi Anthony,

In the screenshot, it’s saying “NO FILE”. That’s the cause for this.

Back on the main menu, in the dropdown box for selecting the CSV files, is there any files in the list or a warning that none can be found?

Hi Anthony,

I’m not sure, try hitting cancel or try using an incognito window and logging in again.

The cancel button doesn’t work at all. I’ve also tried the incognito but it’s still the same. Can you please help me get a copy of the old progress file? Thank you.

Hi Anthony,

I’m not sure what to suggest as Magmi is known to work. So this will be down to either your web browser or web hosting.

The progress.txt file can be found in “magmi-importer/state”.

Out of nowhere, Magmi‘s back. I was just looking for the progress file in Fillezilla (which btw is not in the state folder in the magmi-importer). I have no idea when I logged in just now it works. Appreciate all your help. Thanks a lot.

Dave/Matt,
I think I am going crazy. I used to have a screen after importing with MAGMI that popped up saying “success Sku # imported”
or ERROR: Sku# Not imported. And it would list all the sku’s in that import.

Now that screen is not there. I used the file mentioned above and uploaded it. But no luck. Any suggestions….or am I crazy?

Val
