Hi,
after installing the new version of Magento(clean install),the images do not appear in the backend of the product details, although they do appear ok in the frontend.
I have changed the .htaccess file in the media library but these has not helped.
I have also tried varied suggestions from people having the same problems as me but these have not corrected the problem.
Can anybody help?
Many Thanks
Graham

Changing to Chrome did not work for me.
This problem has only arisen since the latest upgrade.
Anyone else had the same problem?

Hi Graham,

I would advise you to shoot an email to support team as you said it happened after the upgrade.
They can give you advice on how to fix the images that are not showing in backend

Hi,
ok having spent sometime looking at fixes suggested by the Magento community the following seems to have worked for me and may be a help to others:
1. Using FTP or your CPanel locate the uploader.php file which can be found in the following:
edit /varien/file/Uploader.php and change the line chmod($destinationFile, 0640);to chmod($destinationFile, 0644);
2. Also you will find further down the directory file which will need to be changed from 0750 to 0755.
Change these after you have installed the 7405 security patch.
Then go to your Magento Admin clear all caches.
To test that it has worked go to a product and add an image, you will notice that when you hover over the image space you will still see no image….
don’t despair click on ‘save and continue’ and the image will appear.
Unfortunately any images already uploaded with permissions of 640 may have to be changed to 644 to be able to see them.
Hope this helps someone.
