I am uploading new inventory with Magmi and everything is uploading except the items category… it is leaving this blank.

The categories are already created in Magento.

My CSV file that I am using is a direct export from Magento with these fields for the category:

_category _root_category
MENS/Pants/Dress Pants Default Category

Any Ideas?

Hi Erick,

Yes, use the Magmi categories plugin to import them.

The column header is “categories” and it’s covered in the wiki here http://wiki.magmi.org/index.ph…..r/importer or here https://understandinge.com/lesson/imp-0007/ around 5 minutes briefly.

I renamed the exported header to ‘_category’ to ‘categories’ and trying it now.

I noticed that there are a lot of exported headers with a leading _underscore that magmi doesn’t recognize.

Thank you.

(Is there a list of all of magmi‘s header names that it uses?)
