Hi guys,

Just wondering if there is any news/updates about the
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/*****/domains/*******.nl/public_html/magmi-importer/web/progress_details.php on line 23

I feel it’s so close to a breakthrough…tho it’s not at the moment.
Tried all kinds of stuff (setting flags to “off” etc.), but it still gives me the error, and the products won’t show up in Magento/Website.
When I put the php_flag magic_quotes_gpc off in a htaccess file it went from 6 errors to 1 error…. and another thing I’ve noticed, it went from 46,5% to 100% (Global stats).
Was hoping the 100% was enough, but sadly it wasn’t.

Still, you guys are doing one GREAT job!!!! and hopefully this last bug will be fixed soon.
And ofcourse, anybody who can help me out with this one will get many many thanks in advance!!!

Greetz,
Luit

Hi Luit,

Normally it means that we’re missing one of the required headers, however seeing that you found the mention of magic_quotes_gpc then I’m guessing you already know this.

I see where this message originates from in Magmi, however I’m not sure on how to solve it as it’s a blank response back from Magmi and thus that’s why we see this message. It’s one for Sebastian from Magmi as his coding is wayyyy superior to mine.

Hi Matt,

Thank you very much for your answer.
Yes, I’ve tried everything possible to get it to work, wit no success.
I’ll keep my eye on this forum, and hopefully there will be a solution soon.

BTW, have you got any idea why some site’s “accept” this bug, en for example mine doesn’t do anything?
It still say’s 100% (Global Stats), but somehow it get’s stuck further on the way.

Again, thanx very much!

Luit

Hi Folks,

I’m at the end of my wits…
How on earth do I get this thing to work.
I’ve did a reinstall of Magento (back to version 1.7.2), but it didn’t help a thing.
Same error as with 1.8…… what am I doing wrong here

I’m breaking my brain to figure out why this system works flawless on some systems and my system doesn’t do anything at all

Hail to the person who can help me with this one!!

Hmmm is this something you could perhaps shed some light on @Sebastien BRACQUEMONT?

Hi Luit,

Can you attach an example csv file that you are using using the attachments button when making a reply so we can see what you’re importing?

Hi Luit,

Just checked in our system, no problems and the file was imported.

Can you grab the latest Magmi from here https://understandinge.com/getmagmi and see if that solves it for you?

Hi Matt,

If you don’t mind I try it tomorrow… it’s sleepy time ;-)
I realy appriciate your work you wanna do to get it to work (for me)

Should I try it on an 1.8 version, or should I stick with the 1.7.2 version.
The database is empty at the moment, so it’s no problem to switch back to another version.

Greetz, and I’m bowing my head for all your support!!! That’s not the case on all forums ;-)

Have a good nigh…eehhh day!

Hi Luit,

No probs at all, what I was actually meaning was try the latest version of Magmi and see if that solves it.

The reason being as that file 100% worked on our install with no changes.

Hi Luit,

Daft one you may have not followed us from the beginning.

Do you have short_description as a required value in your system?

So if you go to any product in your Magento system, does the short description field have a red star next to it’s label?

Hi Matt,

The short description is marked with a red asterix.
Also been using the latest of Magmi from the beginning ;-)

Hi Luit,

Add that column in and see if it that solves it.

Do note that the line 23 error is a known issue at the moment, I can suppress the message but that doesn’t solve the actual issue ;-)

Hi Matt,

Sorry to say, but that didn’t solve it.
I’ve found on magentocommerce a topic about colums etc.
Somebody came with the suggestion to export for instance the example products (wich I have installed).
After that empty the products section, and try to import the exported csv file back to Magento.

So I figured, why not try this with Magmi, but with no positive result.
I’ve attached the csv file to this message. As you can see it’s got all fields that go with Magento, but somehow Magmi still doesn’t want to import.

I’m well aware that you try to do your best to get this fixed, and that a solution is an complicated thing.
Still I apreciate your answers very much, and hopefully one of your answers will be the right one!

Hi Luit,

Change the delimiter to a comma and that will solve it.

Using a ; confuses Magmi as it’s used as a separator for some of the plugins that are enabled website categories, the media gallery etc…

Also try it with out the description field, as the html description is spread over multiple lines in the CSV source, so remove that to begin with and rule that out as well.

Hope that helps and let me know how you get on.

Goodmorning Matt,

Didn’t noticed the semicolon…my bad!
Changed the things you told me to, and………….no luck.

I’ve noticed some underscores at the beginning of some headerfields and tried it without the underscores, but that didn’t fix it.

Greetings,
Luit

Hi Luit,

Taking a look at the csv file a lot of the headers are incorrect for Magmi.

What I’d suggest you do is take a look at the same files that are in the var/import folder that came with the UE version of Magmi to see what they are. A direct copy from a Magento export to use Magmi to import will not work.

I’ve made some tweaks to your CSV which is attached below and it’s gone in to our test site as well as could be expected as you have numerous columns that we don’t have in ours, also I changed the attribute set as well.

Goodevening Matt,

Is it somehow possible that the settings of Magento doesn’t match any .csv file?
I’ve set almost everything within Magento to “not required” accept for SKU and description, so there are only two red stars (asterix).
Still, nomatter whitch .csv I try to import, it gives me the (well known ;-) ) error.

Somehow I’m starting to think it hasn’t got a problem with the .csv, but Magento itself has a “problem”.
I know this sound pretty weird, but how on earth is it possible that every .csv gives the error.
Even the most simple import file (provided by Magmi and UE).

The database is totally clean, and there are no adjustments to Magento at the moment, so in theory… it should work.
It runs pretty darn well on your own system, so what’s the difference between your system, and my system.

Hopefully you not get annoyed (is this correct English?) with all my questions, I just as much as you want this system to run smoothly.
I’m just trying to think with you as much as I can.

ps you probably know by now that your last idea of what could fix this didn’t work…for me hahaha

Luit

Hi Luit,

Go back and change those all back to what they were, that’s likely to cause you many, many problems later on.

I’m not sure what to suggest as the file I worked on above worked in our system.

Hi Mat and Dave

I am having the same problem here too… Managed to get it to import 91 of the test 100 items but it then returned 13 warnings. When I click ‘Show Warnings’ I get the message”Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/account/public_html/domain/magmi-importer/web/progress_details.php on line 23″

Any updates?

Also how do I find out which 9 of the 100 did not get imported/updated? (I was using ‘create new items & update existing ones’)

Thanks
Mark
