Some people sell products, others offer home services. If you’re the latter, you might want to consider the new feature on the Facebook Marketplace for your business.
The social media giant recently rolled out a dedicated section for home service providers, such as plumbers, electricians, and house cleaners, just to name a few, whose expertise is much needed on various home projects.
To ensure their users get nothing but quality service, Facebook have teamed up with industry leaders Handy, HomeAdvisor, and Porch to bring in top-notch professionals from the home improvement area.
It’s interesting to note, though, that those firms aren’t exclusive to Facebook, as they have existing partnerships with other online juggernauts like Walmart, Google, and Build.com.
However, Facebook are unfazed as they are determined to battle it out with the big players in the home services sector, namely Amazon Home Services, Google Home Services, TaskRabbit and Angie’s List, among others.
More than 100,000 vetted professionals are now available to Marketplace users in the US, who can easily select a service provider based on their location, credentials, customer reviews, and ratings.
As to what inspired Facebook to create this new section on their platform, Vice President of Marketplace Deb Liu said:
“More people ask for recommendations related to home services on Facebook in the U.S. than any other topic. Since the beginning of the year, millions of people have asked their friends for suggestions related to home services, such as house cleaners, plumbers and contractors.”
