eBay UK Poised to Raise Shipping Prices

Howdy !

Sellers on eBay UK will be greeted with higher shipping prices in the new year.

The online marketplace announced a price hike on a number of services that they offer through ‘eBay delivery powered by Shutl’, which takes effect on 4th January 2019.

They said the annual rate increase will enable them to continue bringing sellers the best services and developments.

While prices on some parcel sizes won’t move, most of the shipping rates of ‘eBay delivery powered by Shutl’ will shoot up.

Still, the eBay delivery team explained that their rates are way cheaper than buying postage direct from a carrier. They also added:

“As an eBay delivery service customer, you’ll benefit from higher standard compensation, and the option to purchase enhanced compensation up to £1,000 for any carrier to cover the more expensive items that you sell, in case of loss or damage in transit. Terms and Conditions apply.”

To allay their worries, eBay said that they are now offering printerless services on both Hermes and CollectPlus drop-off parcels.

Now, at least there’s a positive aspect to this news, don’t you agree? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
